Brendan Hocevar

Over the past 5 years I've been involved in Engineering I've worked on multiple
collegiate and personal projects that required 3D design and Rapid Prototyping the designs.

For three years I designed aerodynamic packages for a racecar and used a FDM printer to print scale models of the aero devices for wind tunnel testing.

I've worked with NASA Glenn on a project to redesign a module release mechanism for their spacecraft. I printed the initial design with and SLA printer for proof of concept.

At my current job I've used SLA and FDM printers to quickly prototype new designs for testing. The proper printer type and material was chosen to have similar properties of the part that would be injection molded.

Over the past year that I've been in the automotive industry as a supplier, I've worked on multiple programs that involved designing, validating, testing and manufacturing plastic parts. I work in the car and truck bumper and fascia R&D group and the parts I've worked on I've had to get them designed and evaluated with FEA. At the same time evaluating their feasibility to be injection molded in the most efficient way possible.

I've practiced mechanical engineering for five years now and in that time I've worked on multiple projects in automotive and aerospace. I was the Aerodynamic Team Lead on a international competing racecar team. My responsibility was to design, validate, test, fabricate and tune the aerodynamic package for the racecar every season. I've also worked with a NASA Glenn team to redesign a module release mechanism for their spacecraft's. I currently am now working for a Tier 1 automotive supplier in their Advanced Engineering department as a Project Engineer.
