I am Renata Avrutis, a Senior Embedded and Real-Time Software Engineer and Software Team Lead with over 20 years of professional experience.

  • • Led a team of 6–15 engineers, responsible for developing real-time embedded software in C/C++ on ARM/x86 for cellular modems, including development and optimization on Linux systems.
  • • Designed and implemented AT commands layers, modem communication modules (QMI/MCM), including real-time features and system-level functionalities. Responsibilities included new feature development, bug fixing, and ongoing support for existing products, in both Linux and RTOS.
  • • Worked with Hexagon REX/Qurt RTOS and Linux Embedded Qualcomm and x86 Intel chipsets, ensuring efficient integration with modem hardware.
  • • Developed and supported cellular module software, including new feature development, bug fixes, and support for existing products.
  • • Configured and optimized RF/bands and GPIO settings, improving hardware-software integration and modem performance. Worked with TCP/IP, UDP protocols for data transmission within cellular systems.
  • • Debugged and optimized serial communication protocols, including UART, RS232, I2C, for embedded system interfacing and data transfer.
  • • Conducted crash memory dump analysis, network and UE log analysis, using Qualcomm debugging tools (QXDM, QCAT) and Wireshark, Lauterbach Trace32 (T32) JTAG debugging.

Worked with UART and USB interfaces, developed AT commands for modem control in accordance with 3GPP, PTCRB, GCF, and AT&T standards, and customized mobile UI components with support for Bi-directional text rendering in Hebrew, Arabic, and Russian.
  • • Optimized UI performance and memory management, improving device responsiveness.
  • • Integrated modem software with Qualcomm and Motorola chipsets, ensuring seamless communication.
  • • Conducted performance profiling, debugging, and crash analysis using Lauterbach Trace32 (JTAG) and other tools.
