The POWER OF VISUAL COMMUNICATION

Visual communication is the power by which human society is shaped. It has changed the world time and time again and continues to do so. Human society feeds of the visual communication which in return feeds of human society and develop into a better mean of manipulation. For the better or worse human society can no longer live without it.

 Before the industrial revelation education of any sort was limited, if a family was able to educate their children they were still limited to the knowledge of the local teachers. Many could hardly afford to learn how to read and write. Those who were educated had a better place in society and were treated with outmost respect. Once the print was invented ideas of all kind have reached far more readers and there for introduce different schools of thought, which gave birth to the concept of open mindedness in a very conservative world.

Once the print was invented and books began to find their way too many hands the plays where been readout with far more planning and professionalism the idea of a script for each actor and actress was no longer farfetched.  Some years later motion pictures where add in to the power of the printed word, visual communication has taken the world to a new stage where the reality of life of all kinds, was no longer just a printed word but something you can watch and relate too, be entertained by and educated by, and more often than not manipulated by. The world was changed once again.

As the printed word became more available more people began to express their thought and break old tabos, Governments all over the world who were trying to keep their people in the dark where fighting the printed words who were exposing their wrong doing and creating a different public opinion to the one they worked so hard to implant. Censor of all kinds began to form and then fought against until free press was burn. And so the printed words who have educated the people has fought its right to be true through the new society it has created, the very society who has created it.

The leaders of the world with all its power was no longer able to hide, they needed to find better ways to keep the public for finding out about information that was sensitive. The need for well kept information was born and so society once again changed its thinking in order to use visual communication in a more efficient way. While all this is going on technology was moving forward and from telegraphs to television and all the way to the first computer. The need to understand the way which the human mind react to the visual communication gave birth to a new field of study by which new forms of communication are been shaped, this time round they are well crafted to grab the full attention of the public.

The new generations who are burn to a world of constant interaction with visual communication has become depended on it, the society of the world has changed and even the most remote business in the Sahara desert has a website, it can sell its product whatever it might be to china with ever leaving the desert. The more we learn about its power the more we and use it to better our life the more we become dependent upon it.

Was life better before visual communication has become an unsupportable part of human society? Were we safer? The list of the  pros and cons of visual communication is going to  grow together with it development and while we are worried that the new generations are exposed to the wrong information and influence we cannot stop the use of visual communication but we begin to learn how to control it. Humans are ever evolving and will adapt to all situations grow from it and achieve new heights.
